BIRD UP: Sydney’s Fried Chicken Festival Is Back Again After Just 3 Months

It’s what wonderful time of year again: the time Sydney gets a goddamn fried chicken festival – and by the “time of year” I mean a time roughly three months after the last one was held.
After the success of “Birds Of Redfern” (surprisingly not some sort of sexist 60s modelling competition), the organisers are bringing it back lickity-split, this time to Petersham.
It’ll be a chill Sunday afternoon of music, wine, craft beer and like a million different varieties of fried chicken (editor’s note: less than a million, but still, like, a lot), all curated by organiser Andrew Levins.
There’ll be food from Belly Bao, Butter Sydney, The Erskineville Hotel, Public House Petersham, Mary’s Newtown and, last but not least, Hashtag Burgers, who will be serving up some frankly insane sounding chocolate-fried chicken.
Tickets are $15 and it’ll be held in the Public House Petersham carpark over two sessions on Sunday October 23rd, you can check out the Facebook event here.
