5 Mind-Blowing Things We Didn’t Know About Zara

Thanks to the infographic masters at Hungry Beast here are five things you might not know about Spanish retail giant, Zara.

1) Utter size: 2,000 stores in 77 countries worldwide. They’re literally taking over.
2) Cashed up: It’s parent company, Inditex, turned over $17 billion last year, making its owner Amancio Ortega the 7th richest man in the world.
3) So.Many.Clothes: 30,000 designs are churned out each year, that’s 2.5 million items per week. They do it quickly too. Garments go from design to production to sale in just 3 weeks. The industry average is 6 months.
4) Fast fashion: Their global warehouse based in Spain tags and packs millions of items per week so in-store staff can focus on customer service. Store drops happen twice a week, with no garments staying in the warehouse for more than 72 hours.
5) Aussie assault: When Zara Sydney opened, 80% of the stock was bought within 3 minutes.

They’re a big deal, obvs.
