Todd Carney Wins Wrongful Dismissal Case After Weeing In Own Mouth

Recycled beverage enthusiast Todd Carney is probably gearing up for a celebratory night out on the piss, after winning an unfair dismissal case against the Cronulla Sharks.
As we’re sure you remember, last year, Carney made headlines when he posted an Instagram photo of himself gleefully weeing into his own mouth at a pub urinal.
Australia learned a new word, ‘bubbling’, and Carney, for whom this was the latest in a series of embarrassing incidents, was dismissed from the club.
Today, however, Fairfax report that an appeals committee has found Cronulla to be in the wrong, thanks to the fact that they did not allow Carney to plead his case before the board.
The 28-year-old Carney, who is currently playing in the Super League, but is out recovering from a rib injury, could theoretically use this finding as the basis to sue the club.
Cronulla Sharks chairman Damien Keough has acknowledged that they messed up, but insists that it’s a matter of pure technicality.
“What’s important to remember here is that it’s not a question of the facts, it’s a question of the process,” he said, “but the reality of the situation is, the decision would likely have been the same.”
As for whether Carney might one day return to the NRL, Keough was philosophical, saying he “wouldn’t rule it out,” but “from my point of view, there has been a lot of water that has flown under the bridge since last June.”
Zing.
