Todd Carney Is Suing Cronulla For Sacking Him Over That Bubbling Incident

Following a steady stream of bad behaviour, culminating in an incident in which he was photographed drinking his own pee in a nightclub toilet, NRL superstar Todd Carney was unceremoniously sacked from the Cronulla Sharks last year.
Carney, who is currently playing for the Catalans Dragons Super League club in France, remains pissed off about his sacking, and announced this week that he plans to take Cronulla to court for unfair dismissal.
In June of last year, Carney was sacked by the Sharks without a hearing after the “bubbling” incident, his second urine-related misadventure after he weed on a man’s leg in a Canberra nightclub in 2008, while playing for the Raiders
The troubled player was charged with drink driving in 2006, and was ordered into alcohol counselling in 2009 after vandalising a series of parked cars and a Fone Zone store in Goulburn.
Plus, he once set a man on fire at a New Year’s Eve party. (Wonder how he put it out?).
Carney did not hear of his dismissal through the club directly, but instead, it trickled down to him through teammate Wade Graham; he now says that the circumstances in which he was let go are unfair, and is suing for close to $3 million.
He told Nine News:
“I feel I was harshly done by, some people don’t. I want it to be cleaned up because one day, if it happens to a player again the club might think back to what’s happened to me. It might help another player.”
Carney said that last year’s bubbling incident (NSFW photo here) still “haunts” him; TBH, it “haunts” us too.
