Ronda Rousey Hospitalised For Treatment After Brutal K.O In UFC Upset

Unlike the hits she takes in her burgeoning film career, the kick that knocked Ronda Rousey out today was very, very real, and has landed the previously undefeated fighter in hospital.

Some commenters have claimed her injuries wouldn’t have warranted a hospital visit, and that her team was attempting to pull a fast one by dodging a post-fight interview. No word has come out of her camp yet.
For all the hype and gloss surrounding UFC’s latest round in Melbourne, it can be easy to fall into the spectacle of the whole thing and not focus on, you know, the actual punishment two human beings can deal upon each other.
That punishment was dealt today by challenger Holly Holm, who shocked the world of fighting with a pretty clinical disassembly of Rousey over two rounds.

Holm said “I have not spent so much time in the gym in all my life… I didn’t want to kick her in the body, we went high and yeah.”
“Yeah”, of course, is an understatement from the new bantamweight world champ, who marked the first loss on Rousey’s record this afternoon.

Rousey has said previously she’d be willing to fight for two more years before moving exclusively to the on-camera work. Depending on how she feels in hospital, that timeline may be up for a review – especially if her next fight could be a rematch against Holm.
