In the opening match of the State of Origin, Queensland has gained victory over holders of the title, New South Wales.
After the Blues led for most of the match, they were unable to defend their title after a late dropgoal from QLD’s Cooper Cronk, which won the game for the Maroons.
The score at full-time was QUEENSLAND 11 – NEW SOUTH WALES 10.
