Johnathan Thurston Is Out Of Origin III Due To A Severely Fucked Shoulder

Hug your nearest Queenslander, folks. This will break their maroon hearts.

Incredibly good and perfect man Johnathan Thurston has been ruled out of the all-important Origin III game, and is reportedly set to undergo surgery to repair his injured shoulder.
The shoulder injury was initially what kept JT out of the first Origin game, and he’d only played one game before gamely returning for Queensland’s upset comeback win in Wednesday night’s second game of the series.
Thurston gamely battled through the hard-nosed clash, but a first half collision with the Blues’ Tyson Frizell left him visibly in pain and favouring the right arm.
The injury was already enough to rule him out of what would’ve been his 300th NRL game this weekend, with his North Queensland Cowboys set to take on Penrith. But after scans, the injury is reportedly more severe than first thought.

Not only will the surgery keep Thurston out of Origin III, but it’ll reportedly keep him out of competitive league for the rest of the NRL season, and puts an appearance at the Rugby League World Cup in October in severe doubt.

PRAY FOR THURSTO. PRAY FOR QUEENSLAND.
Origin III – the almighty decider – is set for Wednesday, July 12th.
