Cocky Unit Tom Brady Filmed An Ad With 5th Super Bowl Ring Before The Game

Every year after the Super Bowl, manufacturers find themselves with copious amounts of unsellable merchandise.
Instead of binning it, some choose to donate the factually-incorrect threads to communities which a) could legitimately use some new clothes, and b) don’t care one iota that the Atlanta Falcons actually lost Super Bowl LI.

Fuck knows what this MRI firm would have done with this commercial had the New England Patriots taken the L, though.

Shield’s Health Care Group debuted the new promo shortly after quarterback Tom Brady lifted his team to a stunning comeback victory in Houston, and punters quickly noticed the Patriots’ talisman handed over five rings for the shot.

Five. Brady only (pfft, “only”) had four to his name before today’s victory, and there was zero chance he would have showered, changed, and filmed the spot after the game to fulfil some insane contractual obligation.

This means the bloke prepared this one well in advance – the cocky mofo.

Here’s an almost identical spot which aired in the months before today’s titanic match:

Watching the two back-to-back is like replaying a conversation in your favourite RPG, except you’re the bad guy in your second play-through. It’s familiar, but still, oh so weird.

Nevertheless, the punters loved it:

Baller.
