Broncos Reveal Mystery Substance Players Were Gagging On Before 53-0 Win

Keen watchers of Saturday’s Broncos vs. Knights match might have noticed some weird behaviour in the Brisbane locker room in the pre-match footage.
Not weird like their Coen brothers-esque caper drama that happened when they recently tried to unearth a ‘rat’ in their ranks, but weird like ‘some of the coaches were giving them small amounts of liquid to put in their mouths that was making them gag’.
Josh McGuire and Corey Oates could be seen in the footage vigorously dabbing the stuff around their mouths and dry-retching like someone with a weak stomach watching the Human Centipede.
It turns out the liquid was peppermint oil. According to the club, it’s an ‘old boxer’s trick’ and works just like Vicks for clearing out the sinuses. It seems like it would be nicer to just use Vicks but whatever, it looks like it totally worked for them, because they kicked Newcastle‘s ass 53-0.
Putting something gross on the inside of your mouth until you gag might just be the next big thing in NRL, keep an eye out for it.
