Former UFC fighter Tim Hague has died after suffering a huge knockout during a boxing match in Canada, according to his family.
“It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today,” a statement from his family read. “He was surrounded by family, listening to his favourite songs. We will miss him with [us] so greatly. We ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
The 34-year-old boxer was on life support after being struck twice by Adam Braidwood early in the fight at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Canada, but was declared dead on Monday. It is reported that he managed to get up and walk out of the ring, but fell ill backstage.
Footage was shared o by attendees of the match of the injury on social media. A warning – it is quite confronting.

Hague’s overall MMA record stands at 21 wins and 13 losses. He fought under the UFC banner between 2009 and 2011, racking up one win and four losses.
