Nick Cardello and Kurt English have celebrated Pride Month in a very special way – by recreating the same photo they took together 24 years ago at the LGBT march on Washington in 1993.
“We made the decision to start posting photos of us being us! That meant kissing, holding hands — these were things we kept off social media because it can make some people feel uncomfortable,” Nick said.“People need to see same sex couples just being couples — those images are missing from the media.”
The two images, side by side but decades apart, were shared online and have quickly picked up steam, with the collage copping over 80k upvotes on Reddit and an incredible amount of response on Twitter, including others sharing their own relationships and proof that their sexuality is not just a phase.

I used to be intensely homophobic, then I grew up and realized love is love. I’m not homosexual, but I will stand up for anyone who is.

This is so necessary. For young gays to see old gays happy, in love, and proud. Thank you for giving me a bit of hope for the future
