Two pandas over in Hong Kong have finally done the seks after 10 long years in captivity together. That’s it. That’s the article.
Ocean Park Zoo’s Ying Ying and Le Le, both 14 years old, did the damn deed yesterday, confirming that humans aren’t the only ones who’ve been climbing up the walls as of late.
According to the announcement made on the zoo’s website, both Ying Ying and Le Le had begun showing signs of entering their respective mating cycles at end of March. Ying Ying, the girl, had been spending more time in the water, while Le Le, the guy, had been leaving his scent everywhere. Put simply – they were ravenous for some P in V.

Check Ying Ying and Le Le giving each other a post-root hug. Humans, take note.
“Male and female giant pandas are sexually mature starting at ages of seven and five respectively,” Michael Boos, Executive Director in Zoological Operations and Conservation at Ocean Park, said in a statement. “Since Ying Ying and Le Le’s arrival in Hong Kong in 2007 and attempts at natural mating since 2010, they unfortunately have yet to succeed until this year upon years of trial and learning.”
“The successful natural mating process today is extremely exciting for all of us, as the chance of pregnancy via natural mating is higher than by artificial insemination.”
The zoo has been without visitors since the end of January. Maybe that’s the only thing the pair needed – some boinking privacy.
Either way, we simply love to see some panda lovin’.
At least some of us are getting it.
