Woman Charged In Horrific Sydney School Crash Which Saw Two Children Killed

A female has been charged in relation to this morning’s horrific car crash at a school in Sydney’s south-west which saw two eight-year-old boys killed and and a total of 21 children injured.

The vehicle allegedly manned by the woman crashed into a demountable classroom at Banksia Road Public School this morning at 9.45am, with five children taken to Westmead Hospital.

NSW Police have confirmed a woman has been charged, although exact details have not been released.

The 52-year-old was taken to hospital  for mandatory blood and urine tests after the incident.

The NSW Minister for Education Rob Stokes, has this afternoon released a statement, communicating his sadness at the tragedy and thanking emergency services and staff:

Our first priority is to support students, staff and parents by any means necessary and allow them time to properly grieve. This will not be a quick process and we will work together with the school community to provide whatever assistance we can.
