Wicked Campers Response To Their Recent Controversy Has To Be Seen To Be Believed

You might have heard a little somethin’ somethin’ about Queensland-based camper-van hire company Wicked Campers this past week. The company is infamous for its whacky painted/graffitied vans with slogans written across the back that, at best, can come across as being a little bit unsavoury. But its one slogan in particular that’s causing more than a little bit of a storm on them there internets.

A complaint filed to the Advertising Standards Board by the 11 year old daughter of Sydney mother Paula Orbea has created this newest wave of controversy for the company, over a van emblazoned with the phrase “In every Princess there is a little slut who wants to try it just once.”
The Queensland Government will discuss the company later this month, with some calling for the vans to be held to the same standard as billboards, copping the same scrutiny as outdoor advertising.
Now, we’re not, under any circumstances, condoning these slogans. They are vile, misogynistic, often sexist remarks that demonise – inadvertently or not – on gender, sexuality and race. We are not denying this, we support wholeheartedly the movement to remove the offending slogans. And further to that, anyone who suggests that it’s “just a joke” we suggest needs to reassess what the definition of a joke really is.
HOWEVER.
Wicked Campers have responded in such a glorious, over-the-top manner that we cannot ignore it.
Seriously, just watch this video. It’s… it’s glorious.

There’s steering into the skid, and then there’s mooning the apocalypse. This definitely veers closer to the latter.
