Slay Model Management are the world’s first modelling agency exclusively representing transgender people. If you’re sat there thinking ‘Gee, they’d be a perfect subject for a ridiculously excellent TV series’, well, you’re right, and Whoopi Goldberg has spared you the trouble of having to make it yourself.
Strut, a doccumentary/reality TV series which features Whoopi as executive producer, is coming to screens later this year. It’s about trans models making it in the fickle and cruel world of fashion. “Because I’m trans, people are judging my every moment of every day,” says model De La Cruz in the trailer.
Although we’ve only got a few seconds of footage of each of the stars of the show, YouTube commenters are already weighing in with their customarily well thought out, measured opinions:
So inspirational that we’ve progressed as a society to the point where we’ll harshly judge a trans woman for her looks and self assuredness, just as we would any cis woman.
