Whoopi Goldberg Is Releasing A Line Of Weed Edibles For Period Pain

Actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg is launching her own line of THC-infused cannabis products intended to help women relieve menstrual cramps, which she and her granddaughters badly suffer from.
It’s called Whoopi & Maya, and came out of Goldberg’s own experience with relieving period paid and her glaucoma-induced headaches with medicinal cannabis. She announced on her show ‘The View’ that she teamed up with a private equity firm and cannabis edibles maker Maya Elisabeth to make it happen.
But seriously. Whoopi is joining the new wave of ‘ganjapreneurs’ (yeah) who are finding business opportunities in the wave of recreational and medicinal marijuana legalisations across the United States. She said investors weren’t initially very keen:
“They always came back with: ‘That’s too niche a market.’ It’s like, half of the planet is not a niche market! Most guys don’t have any idea what a period is or how it works. It’s like, ‘There’s a vagina, and there’s an egg …”

She also wants everyone to know that it’s not really a joke, as period paid “isn’t a joke to women.” It’s true – endometriosis, which can cause severe period paid, affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age.

So good onya Whoopi. Obviously we won’t see these in Australia for a while – maybe we should get with the program.
