We’re Getting Another Free Telstra Data Day After Massive Network Cockup

Trying times for Australia’s biggest mobile network, hey? Last month, Telstra offered a whole day of free data because of a a few hours of completely lost service a few days prior. Now it’s happened again. Last night, from about 6:30pm AEDT, the network was obliterated for many mobile customers, and dropped in and out throughout the evening.

And, in true form, Telstra customers are getting another free data day – this one on April 3. It’s a Sunday, so you’ve got all day to download all the movies/music/TV/games/weird pornography that your heart desires.
They acknowledged the problem last night right away, and spent hours trying to restore service to customers:

Last time the problem was “human error”, but Telstra haven’t said much about the cause this time – apart from the implication of an issue in the system that registers phones and data wasn’t functioning correctly.

So there you have it, folks. Free data. Go wild. The only limit is your imagination and your battery life. The unlimited spoils of the World Wide Web are yours for the taking – if you dare to dream.
