Here’s your second glimpse of Lars Von Trier‘s upcoming film, Nymphomaniac. The film stars Shia LaBeouf, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Uma Thurman, following the story of a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, presumably with all the seedy, riveting pyschosexual cadences that Von Trier regularly delivers.
This look at the second chapter, titled, “Jerome” after LaBeouf’s character who will later perform unsimulated sex scenes in the film, is one of eight chapters, and tells us precious little about what to expect. We do learn that LaBeouf absolutely nails it as a sleazy, prick of a boss with a perpetually condescending tone; introducing an employee as a guy who “does the business cards” because that is definitely a job with a single purpose that most certainly exists, sure. It’s a long wait until its December release, and these fleeting appetisers are making it all the more excruciating.
