WATCH: Prepare For Feels With This Trailer For ‘The Fault In Our Stars’

Here’s one that’ll tug at the ole’ heartstrings. This extended trailer for The Fault in Our Stars shows some of the quieter, subtler moments of the upcoming film that reveal that it’s got a depth of heart and character that reaches far beyond its potentially shaky plot tentpoles.

The film is based on the absolutely freaking excellent YA novel by John Green and was adapted for the screen by writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who previously provided the words behind films such as (500) Days of Summer and The Spectacular Now.
Relatively new director Josh Boone helms the cast, headed up by Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff, Laura Dern, Mike Birbiglia and Willem Dafoe.
Indie darlings Bright Eyes are penning the soundtrack. Expect emotional swells and lightly plucked strings.
As you can see from the trailer, it’s a story about finding love in impossible circumstances. Have your tissues ready, kids. Your heart’s about to get warmed, and then spectacularly smashed.
The Fault in Our Stars opens in theatres on June 5th.
