WATCH: Meet The 13 Y.O Ledge Campaigning To Scrap Exxy Hospital Parking

After 13-year-old Gidon Goodman’s showing on The Project tonight, we’re fairly sure he could talk us into anything. It’s just as well he’s using that v. sharp intellect of his to champion a worthy cause: abolishing parking fees at hospitals.

It’s a personal quest for Goodman too, considering he’s spent ten years in and out of hospitals while dealing with a rare blood disorder. He claims his family has coughed up nearly $10,000 for fees over the duration of his illness, but Goodman’s managed to build perspective on the issue that betrays his years:

“For us it hasn’t been too prohibitive, but I know people who it has been prohibitive for. That’s sort of what it’s about: that there are people in much worse situations than me, going a lot more than me, who have much less money to spend on hospitals.”
A quick glance at the Change.org petition he’s set up confirms that fact, with numerous commenters rallying against what Goodman calls the “exploitation” of visitors and patients. Again, this kid is 13. When your author was 13, he was too busy trying to beat Halo 2 on Legendary to actively rally against injustice.

You can check out the petition, which is sailing over 60,000 signatures at time of writing, riiight here. In the meantime, try to counter his spot-on rhetorical skills below:
