The freshly dropped Homeland Season 3 trailer, feat. Ambiguous Out-Of-Context Montage And Zero Answers, is arguably a gracious step up from its teaser trailer that revealed approximately < nothing a few weeks ago. The almost-audio only trailer—accompanied by the predictable trailer soundtrack cop out of Cinematic Orchestra‘s “To Build A Home”, which forces so many unsolicited #feels on you because it was once on a Sony ad, or in Grey’s Anatomy or something, and its inherently deep, and why am I crying—will pool your Homeland-dedicated emotions in to a pining, heartbroken mess, counting down days until season 3’s premiere on September 29.
Picking up from the Emmy and Golden Globe Award Winning season 2 of Homeland—where [SPOILERS] Carrie (Claire Danes) drops the now-fugitive Brody (Damian Lewis) to the Canadian border after being framed for a fatal car bombing—the Season 3 trailer promises a few things that ultimately tell us little about what to expect: Brody shaves his head, there’s a bunch of running, screaming, shooting; there’s heated court rooms, some prayer-mat praying and sexting by Brody’s daughter Dana (because ~timely issues~), and a show-stealing performance by the reliable, heavenly Cry Face as portrayed by Claire Danes. This time, she’s done a pretty great, and by great I mean convincingly ugly, job:
We’re also shown THIS, which is interminably cruel in its fleeting detail and scribbled ambivalence. What do you mean, TRUST BROKEN = REVENGE ?!?!?!?!?!
