Life is a many splendored mystery that permeates every small facet of who we are. Many have tried to understand it. Some may have come close. But all have, ultimately, failed in one aspect or another. We are all, in our own special way, fighting a battle that we simply cannot win. But there are some of us, a select few, who are at least up for the fight. Who will plant their feet in the ground and stare the void down until someone blinks. People like this man, who refuses to be shown up by a fence. The fence may be iron, but so is his will. He’s a warrior. A poet. An irresistible force boldly chesting up to the immovable object. He is the hero so many of us need in our lives. A shining beacon of hope in a world of bitter grey. His never say die attitude is glorious; the kind of attitude that inspires hope in the hearts of men. Though his task may be futile, as long as there is air in his lungs and blood in his veins, he will never, ever give up. And that is the essence of who we should all strive to be.
