26 Y.O. Man Robbed Bank And Threw Cash Over Taylor Swift’s Fence, Police Say

A 26-year-old Connecticut man has been charged after allegedly robbing a bank, travelling to Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home, and throwing US $1,600 over her fence in an apparent attempt to impress the singer.

Police allege Bruce Rowley robbed a bank in Ansonia on April 4 before heading to the singer’s upmarket residence.

He was arrested on April 5 after Rhode Island police spotted his vehicle hightailing it back to Connecticut. Authorities deployed a spike strip to immobilise his car and say he confessed to the robbery once in custody.

Ansonia Police spokesperson Lt. Patrick Lynch said “it seemed he wanted to propose to her,” adding that “he said he threw some of the money over a fence to impress her.”

Swift was not present at the time. Authorities say Swift apparently had no prior knowledge of Rowley.

Some of the money allegedly stolen by Rowley has been recovered by police, but none of cash reportedly hurled over Swift’s fence has been found.

Rowley was held on bond totalling US $100,000 at his arraignment on Friday.
