VIC Fisherman Seriously Injured After 1.5M Shark He Caught Attacks Him

In yet more proof that we should just leave the ocean the fuck alone already, a man has serious hand injuries after catching a shark off of Victoria’s Queenscliff.
The 73-year-old fisherman pulled the 1.5-metre shark, believed to be a broadnose sevengill, into his boat at around 11:00AM this morning while fishing at Port Phillip Bay, east of Geelong.
The shark attacked the as yet-unnamed-man’s arm and hand as he pulled it into his boat, but, while he lost a lot of blood, the deadset legend managed to call his wife and drive 2 kilometres back to the marina, where paramedics were waiting for him.

The fisherman was then flown to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, where he remains in a stable condition. And the shark, for its efforts, is dead, and was brought back to sea to be disposed of once the man had been looked after.
