Police had launched a full-scale search after Brett Palmer‘s empty kayak was discovered floating in the water in Western Port Bay. They found him – in his house, completely oblivious to the fact that he was assumed missing.
Palmer says the pull of the seven gill shark was strong enough to launch him into the water at approximately 2:30am, at which point he scurried onto a mate’s boat to continue fishing.
Now that his kayak has been recovered, Palmer reckons its time to rehabilitate it. “I think it’s had enough time in the water for the moment, she needs to get home and get loved up a bit.”
Truer words never spoken.
