
The Victorian Police bomb squad conducted a “safety check” on a public bus adjacent to Westfield Doncaster in Melbourne’s east this afternoon, but the ‘suspicious package’ was revealed to be an unattended backpack.

Police received a call earlier this afternoon regarding the Route 902 bus, and cordoned off a stretch of Williamsons Road in the immediate vicinity.
The road has since been re-opened.

Currently, the shopping centre’s cinema, restaurants and supermarkets are operating as usual.
