US Man Opens Box In Late Mum’s Freezer To Find Frozen Baby Wrapped In A Blanket

A man from St. Louis, Missouri made a grizzly discovery when cleaning out his late mother’s home, finding a baby wrapped in a blanket, mummified in the back of the freezer. He believes that it could potentially be his older sister, and his mum’s first-born child.

37-year-old Adam Smith was sorting through what to throw out from the freezer after his mother passed away last week, and opened a box that he thought contained a wedding topper. Instead, he found a small baby wrapped in a pink blanket.

Speaking with KSDK News, he had been aware of the box for most of his life, but every time he had brought it up with his mum, she either changed the conversation or just told him that it was a cake topper from a wedding. Normal stuff.

Smith told local news reporters that he had found out that he’d had an older sister, Jennifer, who would have been 21 when he was around seven or eight, after asking his mum why she was visibly upset one day.

“I was maybe seven or eight, and we were driving. My mom was upset, and I asked her what was wrong, and she looked at me and was like ‘my first-born would have been 21-years-old today, Jennifer,’” Smith said.

“That’s the only thing I’ve ever heard about a baby.”

He said that was the only time his mother had ever talked about another baby, and the box in the freezer was always a “no-no conversation.”

If the frozen child is his older sister, then it’s suspected that the body had been in his mother’s freezer for approximately 50 years. Smith also added that the box had travelled with them as his mother moved houses throughout his life.

Police have deemed it “suspicious”, are currently investigating while waiting for an autopsy report. Smith has said that he just wants closure on the whole thing, which is pretty understandable, really.
