Twitter Reacts To Melbourne Earthquakes

Last night, Victoria experienced its largest earthquake in over a century with scientists recording a magnitude reading of 5.3 on the Richter scale and meme response levels of 10.1 on the lesser known Ridicther. Centred 10km south west of Moe in the state’s Gisppsland and Latrobe Valley regions (approximately 120km east south east of Melbourne) the earthquake lasted for between 30-40 seconds and caused minimal damage to persons, pets or property. So weak was the force that The Herald Sun literally reported on dislodged DVD cases and no one on the internet felt remotely bad about making jokes about it.

Here are some of the best memes, jokes and Twitter reactions to emerge from this terrible non-tragedy.

@ChrisLilley “My Melbourne earthquake aftermath”

@jimeoin “Yeah that was a real big #earthquake”
