True Detective Season 2 Might Be Bringing In Vince Vaughn

Like a medieval-era King lobbing table scraps to his man-servant on the floor – who then weeps at the sheer joy of being worthy of the King’s gristle – the news from True Detective season 2 continues to be gradually drip fed, and we continue to EAT. THAT. SHIT. UP.

With everyone’s attention firmly focused on casting, the rumoured names are flooding in. Along with Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch (as well as the confirmed not interested Christian Bale) now comes a third name to fill the primary cast of four lead roles in the very tall and motor mouthed Vince Vaughn.
The good word is that Vaughn has entered “preliminary talks” – presumably someone has asked him if he might possibly maybe kind-of potentially sort of be interested in taking on a lead role in an acclaimed HBO drama. Tough call, right?
Nevertheless, it certainly wouldn’t do his career – which ain’t exactly firing on all cylinders like the old days – any harm. Plus as a man of comedy he’s way overdue for a dramatic role to show the world that behind the laughter lies a sad, dark clown waiting to emerge and emote so hard your TV melts.
Official casting news is expected to drop at some point between now and the apocalypse.
