HBO Releases 3 First-Glimpse Photos From ‘True Detective’ Season 2

HBO’s game-changing series that turned Matthew McConaughey into the existential crisis of a meme we’ve been waiting for a long time, True Detective, is gearing up for its second season. Are you familiar with the term, “keen”? Great. It can and will be perfectly be utilised in this instance, mostly because I can’t *physically* think of any other adjective to describe my feelings that—I assure you—are much more complex than that simple word. But leave me be. It’s Sunday.

While hints, teaser trailers or set photos from the upcoming series have been depressingly non-existent from HBO, today we’re treated to a fleeting glimpse of one half of the True Detective season 2 duo on set. Welcome a heavily moustached Colin Farrell to the high quality TV series gang, everybody. Five-O:

Farrell’s partner in the show will be played by Vince Vaughn, though there’s currently no glimpse of how he’ll be scrubbing up on set. Vaughn did, however, recently give an interview describing a few details from the show:

“I thought Woody and Matthew did an exceptional job with the first season. This one’s very different, though. It’s a totally different story, with its own characters. The thing that’s consistent is the richness of the characters and the quality of the material. That was Louisiana. This is a California-based story, and it was kind of birthed from here. A lot of it is set in Los Angeles. I really like my character. Nic is so great about investigating characters and their complexities in an authentic and engaging way. I want to watch this show not because I’m in it but as a fan of the material.”

Counting the GD days.
