The School Charity That Copped Cory Bernardi’s BS Has Now Raised Over $200K

The charity campaign run by Adelaide‘s Craigburn Primary School to raise money for girls’ education in Africa has got some serious and unexpected press in the short time it’s been live.

First from hyper-conservative stain Cory Bernardi, who unbelievably attacked the primary school for pushing a “gender morphing” agenda by giving kids the option to come to school in a dress to support the cause (only if they felt comfortable with it, obviously):

And then, much more pleasantly, from extremely good bloke Josh Thomas, who came to the school’s rescue in the wake of Bernardi’s fuckwitted moral posturing.

While Bernardi tried desperately to link a good-hearted fundraiser for disadvantaged girls to a spectral leftist mission to force every boy into a dress, Thomas used his considerable platform to implore his followers to donate to Craigburn’s cause, and had an incredible impact.

When we wrote about Thomas’s involvement with Craigburn’s ‘Do It In A Dress‘ fundraiser yesterday, the school had raised a whopping $25,000, absolutely demolishing their $900 goal.

Now, we’re very happy to report, the fundraiser has cracked $200,000. TWO. HUNDRED. THOUSAND. DOLLARS.

In fact, at the time of writing, the campaign has raised $207,718 to educate girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda, which translates to educations for 692 girls.

Incredible stuff from both Josh Thomas, hero, and Cory Bernardi, idiot. Were it not for both of them, Craigburn Primary wouldn’t have the honour of sending more than two hundred grand to parts of the world where girls need it most. Maybe something good has come out of this god-awful “debate”?
