An abbreviated list of things Americans love: cheerleaders, cheeseburgers, America.
A Texan high school cheerleading squad managed to combine two of those things when the – we shit you not – performed a routine to commemorate the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The routine was set to the 1984 anthem “God Bless The USA” by Lee Greenwood, audios of news reports from the day, and commentary from George Dubya Bush, and not one bit of this is made up.
For better or worse, it’s gone viral, clocking up 22.1 million views and counting.
Cheerleaders 9/11 routine. So good, it’ll make you cry.

The cheer coach at Lumberton High School, Lauren Scheffield, told BuzzFeed News, that they do it every year and take it “very seriously”.
“We do this because we believe it is very important to honor (sic) and remember the first responders, those who gave their lives, and those who still mourn the hole left by lost loved ones.”
Reports are coming in that the routine is getting overwhelming positive feedback – and TBH, Facebook and Twitter are backing that up:

Which, okay, sure, *might* be the case on FB / Twitter, but the YouTube comments section didn’t disable itself, did it.
