Tegan, Of ‘Upskirt’ Video, Talks Street Harassment Epidemic On ‘The Project’

Today, we alerted you to the absolutely fkn horrifying story in which a young woman named Tegan Portener noticed a man on a NSW train filming up her shorts. She confronted the man, then outed him by posting the video to Facebook, where it understandably went viral.
A few short hours later, NSW Police posted a notice to their Facebook page, saying that the man had been found and charged – plus, they’d confiscated his computer and multiple hard drives.

A man has been charged after allegedly filming a woman on a Newcastle bound train last week. About 10.30am on Thursday…

Tonight, the team from The Project spoke to Tegan, who was brave, bubbly, and concise with her message: women deal with this shit every day, and it needs to stop.
Watch below:

Hopefully this acts as a subtle yet effective PSA to every person who denies the existence of rape culture in Western society – it exists, and it’s dangerous, scary, and women have to deal with it every single damn day of their lives.
