Former Subway guy Jared Fogle, who famously allegedly lost 111kg on a diet of their sandwiches, has been sentenced to 15 and a half years in federal prison for child pornography and sex charges – and somehow, it’s all Subway’s fault.
“He traded a horrible food addiction for a horrible sex addiction,” his defence attorney Jeremy Margolis said at the sentencing hearing, seeking a five year sentence.
And Dr. John Bradford, a forensic psychiatrist who testified at the sentencing hearing, said that Fogle had an alcohol problem and a compulsive eating disorder that moved into “hypersexuality” after he lost weight. He also said that Fogle was mostly attracted to older female teenagers aged 16 and 17.
NOPE. NOT FUCKING HAVING IT. The prosecution countered this by reading a text from Fogle that said he wanted younger prostitutes, “the younger, the better”.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt‘s sentence of 15 and a half years went above the 12 and a half year sentence the prosecution. Fogle had a good old bawl during his statement before his sentencing hearing, saying his wife, who has filed with divorce, and his children, whom he is not allowed to see unless all involved agree to is, will never get over this.
“You gave your wife $7 million, she’ll be okay,” said Pratt.
