With the official rollout of a new feature today, Snapchat will allow users to delve into the snaps of old, paying cold, hard cash to see messages for a second time after they disappear.
You could probably look at this in one of two ways.
One would be “awesome, now I get a few more precious seconds with that dick and/or tit pic.”
The other would be “holy shit, Snapchat is holding my dick and/or tit pics hostage instead of deleting them, and it’s only a matter of time until they’re hacked and subsequently spunked out across the whole internet.”
Whatevs.
The tool, called Replay, was tentatively rolled out almost two years ago under the ‘Additional Settings’ feature of the app, where it was only allowed to happen once a day. Now it’s going wide, with United States users the first to get it.
In a recent post to their blog, Snapchat said:
Today, U.S. Snapchatters can purchase extra Replays, starting at 3 for $0.99. You can use a Replay on any Snap you receive, but you can only Replay any Snap once. They’re a little pricey — but time is money! 😉
In the latest update, Snapchat also introduced a feature called Lenses, that works off facial recognition software and adds a variety of details like bright rainbow filters to your snaps. Which is nice.
