Rapper 360 Reveals Drug Overdose, Addiction In Powerful Facebook Video

Rapper 360 has taken to Facebook to launch a deeply personal recount of his drug addiction

360 – real name Matthew Colwell – put the admission to music, saying he overdosed on codeine one year ago to the day.

“No-one knew my addiction, it was stupid as fuck / 90 pills daily of Nurofen Plus… that’s the thing with a codeine addiction / it’s over the counter so you don’t need prescriptions.”

While touring his album Utopia, the rapper took four packets of the drug, resulting in convulsions; the remaining 13 tour dates were cancelled after it was reported he’d been overcome by a “sudden illness.”

“Literally no-one knew I was going through it all / I fucked up, I should be knowing this before / I’m a fucking junkie, how am I going on a tour?

I let down my fans and I owe it to them all / that’s why I’m being honest and so open with it all.”

After describing a month-long stay in hospital and a stint on suicide watch, he outlines his recovery and sends his love to friends and family who stood by him.
The track, simply titled I’m Sorry, has already resonated with thousands of listeners, with many using the video as a catalyst to offload their own burdens. One Facebook commenter told him “still after 6.5 years sober I’m not 100% content, but I keep pushing forwards because I know I have more to offer in this world. You have a friend in me 360. Sober, like minded.”

Another says “this song hits home. 2 years myself until i had to courage to admit my problem. Your words explain everything so well and thanks for speaking up about it.”

Stay strong, mate. Listen below:
