Purple Mag Crucifies LiLo

What is it with Purple magazine and the obsession with Lindsay Lohan.

First it was the extremely un-hot threesome shoot for the November 2009 issue that reeked of poor Lindsay’s desperation for media attention, and now it’s a Terry Richardson-shot cover featuring Lindsay posed as Christ. Seriously.

There are two possible explanations: (a) Olivier Zahm [editor] and Terry Richardson are taking the piss and actually trying to humiliate the girl, or (b) it’s textbook celebrity irony. And we get it: Lindsay Lohan, the much-persecuted media martyr whom the public loves to crucify… Yes, it’s an interesting concept, but it’s too obvious and it’s been done: Kanye West and Perez Hilton have both ‘done The Jesus’.

The spread in which she stars is entitled “Best of the Season”, featuring the best looks from the Alexander McQueen’s spring/summer 2010 runway collection. Ironic, really, considering you’d think she would want to be spruiking the pieces from her widely-panned debut collection as creative adviser for Emmanuel Ungaro.

Purple has released some behind-the-scenes footage at the shoot and well…. see for yourself:

Awkward.
