Joyous manufacturers of all things bricky, LEGO has revealed that they’ll soon be releasing an Adventure Time-themed LEGO set, in a move that’s only surprising due to the fact that it somehow hasn’t happened already.
The much beloved cartoon series will be brought to life in brick-form thanks to LEGO’s LEGO Ideas program; a user-submitted design process that has, in the past, been responsible for Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, The Big Bang Theory, and Doctor Who LEGO sets.
The initial submitted idea – from the brain of some internet genius by the name of “aBetterMonkey” – called for Adventure Time‘s colourful cast of characters to be recreated as LEGO figurines. The design featured the whole extended cast – Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, BMO, the Ice King, Marceline, Lady Rainicorn, Princess Bubblegum, and others.
But far from being just a character set, it would appear that LEGO is preparing some sort of elaborate set for the show, with an announcement video confirming that the Land of Ooo will feature in some way, shape, or form.
Obviously there’s no word yet on any specific details, and a release date would appear to be a ways off at this point.
But still, this ticks so many nerdy boxes it ain’t even funny.
