Sydney Opera House has just announced the program for their third annual GRAPHIC Festival. Described as a weekend of storytelling, illustration, comics, animation, gaming and music, the festival will be headlined by Oscar winning Pixar director Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc.) and Sydney’s Oscar winning world class digital effects studio, Animal Logic (Moulin Rouge!, The Matrix trilogy, 300, House Of Flying Daggers).
Other highlights include Fat Freddy’s Drop who will perform a specially commissioned animated and illustrated album preview of their upcoming fourth studio album Blackbird with live artwork by New Zealand graffiti artist, Otis Frizzell, a surreal AV tribute to Dr. Seuss by Aussie hip-hop and electronica collective, Elefant Traks, a live gaming quiz show from ABC TV’s video game program Good Game, and a wry retrospective on the 30 year career of American indie cartoonist and writer, Peter Bagge.
