Yesterday, we reported on the sad tale of the Sydney bro who let his mates set him on fire as a sacrifice to the party gods, sustaining superficial injuries to his back, and earning himself a place in the pantheon of sheer stupidity.
Overnight, a trio of Perth dudes, presumably hearing of his antics and declaring him to be a softcock, decided they’d go one better, by scaling a building in the city’s CBD and then base jumping from the top.
The jump occurred at 2am local time, and for bonus ‘Straya points, the 14-storey apartment complex from which they leapt was right next to police headquarters on Adelaide Terrace.
ABC News report that, while there were no serious injuries as a result, one man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital after the jump, while another ran off with the group’s gear.
Police are questioning the two remaining men. Presumably, ‘why?’ and ‘what the bloody hell were you thinking?’ are among said questions.

Earlier this morning, a sad shred of what appeared to be a base jumper’s parachute was still hanging from a streetlight in the CBD. Let’s all observe a minute of silence for it.
