Blind NZ Alpaca Left Alone After Ratbag Thief Pisses Off With His Brother

Stealing farm animals makes a lot of sense when you realise that they tend to cost shitloads of money, but the image of someone (presumably dressed like a cartoon thief) bundling up a live alpaca and absconding with it in the backseat of a medium-sized car will never be a perfectly normal one.

Stealing someone’s alpaca is already a dog act, but it takes on incredible new hues of dogsmanship when the theft of said alpaca leaves his brother, a blind alpaca, alone and without a guide to get around.

As the NZ Herald is reporting, Orewa Police are appealing to the public for information about the theft of Charisma the alpaca from a farm in Dairy Flat, north of Auckland. Charisma was taken from the property on March 12, leaving Charisma’s brother, Bambi, to fend for himself.

According to the police, Bambi can’t get around without Charisma: “The theft is particularly sad as his blind alpaca brother relies on him to move around the paddock and is unable to move around with his paddock-mate missing.

A video posted on the North Shore, Rodney & West Auckland Police Facebook page shows a cop tenderly stroking Bambi and urging people to help them locate Charisma:

Police are asking anyone with any information to contact Orewa Police on 09-426 4555 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
