Nine people have reportedly been injured and another killed in a fire resulting from an explosion at the Woolworths in Perth’s Galleria shopping centre this morning.
Reports surfacing this afternoon from Nine News state that an exploding transformer was responsible for the blaze erupting at 9:30am Perth time. Nine reporter Oliver Peterson is on site and is tweeting updates from the ground, including one indicating that a lightening strike caused the explosion in a transformer room separate from the Woolworths.

Three men have reportedly been taken to Royal Perth Hospital having incurred serious burns. A further six were treated at the scene, with further treatment in hospital a possibility; one is apparently in a critical condition and the others are being treated for shock and smoke inhalation.
