Holy Shit, Looks Like Nickelodeon Is Rebooting ‘Clarissa Explains It All’

If you were lucky enough to have an Austar account in the 90s, then you would have been privy to not only the golden era of Nickelodeon viewing but also Clarissa Explains It All, also known as that tv show with Melissa Joan Hart that pre-dated Sabrina The Teenage Witch and was also the most incredibly 90s show ever.

Seriously, this was the intro theme.

It’s been 24 years since Clarissa Darling explained everything about teen years and growing up with her friend Sam (and forever being annoyed by her brother Fergus), and Melissa Joan Hart is reportedly coming onboard to reprise her role as Clarissa – but also the mum of the family.

Whispers of the reboot say that the negotiations are in early stages, with Melissa looking to be an executive producer of the show with her production company, Hartbreak Films. There’s also serious talks that original producer, Michael Kriegman, is coming back onboard to reboot the 90s cult teen classic.

I don’t know about you, but I’m so disgustingly excited to see Clarissa’s classic breaking of the fourth wall to speak directly to the audience about life, love, and growing up in middle America in the early 90s. Oh and it made me wish I had a ladder to my bedroom window so my mates could just climb up anytime. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t want that to be a thing in your teenage room.

But how will it work? Will Clarissa still be talking to us, the viewers and people that are facing challenges of adulthood? Or will it be Clarissa’s children, speaking to a more switched-on teen audience about the trials and tribulations of adolescence and puberty in an increasingly-online world and how parents just don’t get them?

Regardless, I’m definitely spending my next free weekend rewatching the original series.
