Jimmy Fallon Visted Bayside High For This Awesome ‘Saved By The Bell’ Throwback

Hear that? That’s the sound of Dustin Diamond sitting in his dimly lit lounge room, idly twirling a snifter of brandy as the TV silently flickers. Watching. Waiting. Plotting.
Continuing his string of nailing nostalgia pieces from the 90s, Jimmy Fallon‘s Los Angeles week kept rolling out the hits today by flashing back to his old High School days.
With The Tonight Show spending a few days at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, the show’s gotten itself a rare little chance to do things on a slightly bigger scale. Enter, today’s sketch featuring a pitch-perfect recreation of the halls of Bayside High, for a little trip down memory lane to iconic and much beloved early 90s show Saved By The Bell.
Bringing the core of the cast back – Mark-Paul Gosselaar as the preppy Zach Morris, Mario Lopez as the jockish AC Slater, Elizabeth Berkley as know-it-all Jessie Spano, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen as cheerleader Kelly Kapowski, and even an appearance by Dennis Haskins as Principal Belding – the sketch features a few sly little digs at the future careers of the actors, as well as costumes that were SO DAMNED GOOD it hurt a little bit.
Seriously though, how’s Lopez’s gun show in that sky blue cutaway shirt? Hope he left the safety on those bad boys.
If Fallon’s string of 90s throwbacks continue and he somehow pulls out a Clarissa Explains It All or Kenan & Kel reunion, I might actually cry.

Bayside Tigers forever!
