Okay, okay, okay.
Earlier today, we alerted you smartasses to one of the greatest collective trolls we’ve seen in this fair country for a good long while: The ‘Simpsons’ short grift.
So, you lot were essentially trolling Channel 9 and Channel 7 News teams, by telling them you had a ~hot scoop~ for them, but actually describing a scene from The Simpsons. Then, when the news site turned around and said ‘yes potential source, we’d love to know more about a bar owner telling a young girl off for complaining that her soda was too cold’, you posted the Simpsons screengrab.
So, a bad day to work in social media, basically.
The Project, however, wised up to the strangely high amount of ~hot scoops~ that they were receiving, and posted this thoroughly excellent takedown.
Thanks for all your concerned messages, we’re on it #Simpsons #TheProjectTV

Nice. Carry on, media/Simpsons fiends. Carry on.
POSTSCRIPT: We are EXTREMELY offended that none of you guys tried to troll us with Simpsons scoops. We waited, yo. But we’ll take it as a compliment, because you lot know that our editorial team are such Simpsons nerds, that we never would have fallen for such trickery. Cheers, y’all. Love you too.
