News Corp Considering Dedicated Simpsons Channel

Rupert Murdoch‘s News Corporation, which owns (among other things) the FOX Network in the US is apparently considering creating a new cable channel devoted entirely to The Simpsons. Woo-hoo!

The world’s most beloved animated show is now into it’s 23rd season and has so many episodes that it could logically fill it’s own programming schedule, freeing up FOX for more important things like Bill O’Reilly hating everyone and writing more covers for the next episode of Glee.

News Corp. Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey mentioned the idea at a media conference in Beverly Hills earlier this week which understandably got many people excited, after he said his network would be foolish not to capitalise on a show “unique in television with a volume too that is unprecedented.” Australia already has Channel Ten’s offshoot, Eleven, which shows many Simpsons episodes already. But then, it also screens lots of Battlestar Galactica. And there ain’t nothing wrong with more good TV, because we all know what happens when Homer has no TV:
