At first, news of a pigeon carrying nearly 200 ecstasy tablets in a little backpack seems life-affirming: that we should bear witness to such a confluence of human and avian ingenuity is truly a blessing.
Then come the questions. Who put ’em there? How long did it take to train the pigeon to fly drugs? How long did it take to make the backpack? Did cops use a net to capture the feathery fiend? Or some kind of birdseed-and-bucket-on-a-stick arrangement?
As it stands, we have painfully few concrete answers. Here’s what we do know.

Kuwaiti paper Al-Rai claims the bird was captured by law enforcement authorities, after it had been tracked flying in from neighbouring Iraq. No, we do not know how authorities managed to follow a single bird over that distance, but we digress.
After it was apprehended flying around a building near the department’s offices, 178 tablets were found stashed in that teeny, tiny lil’ satchel. And that’s it. That’s all we’ve got. No news on bird drug lords… Yet.
While we’re gagging for more info on this one, the internet has already begun its rampant speculation about the whole deal.
