Passengers riding the Doomsday Destroyer roller coaster at Movie World today were left hanging upside down for over 3 minutes.
At least four people were aboard the ride when it stopped in an upside down position 21-metres in the air. According to video taken by a witness, the incident occurred at around 12:30pm this afternoon.

“These guys are actually stuck up there,” the person recording the video is heard saying.
The Gold Coast theme park told 9NEWS in a statement that the riders were stuck in that position for 3 minutes and 25 seconds due to “ride safety operating systems” kicking in automatically.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience or discomfort caused to our guests, however ride safety is our first priority,” the statement said.
Luckily, no one was injured, but the passengers were left “crying, shaken up and red faced” after the event, according to a witness.
The ride itself only opened late last year, described as “a huge looping attraction”.
“It’s over 20 metres high, very high speed, very high thrill, there’ll be parts of the ride where you’re completely inverted so it’s a very exciting attraction for us,” Movie World general manager Greg Yong told the Brisbane Times in October 2017.
