Melbourne’s Most Expensive Shoebox Is On The Market At A Get-Fucked $1.8M

Ever wanted to drop an obscene amount of cash on real estate without having the pesky issue of a having whole mess of useless rooms to clean? BOY ARE YOU IN LUCK.
What could well be Melbourne‘s most expensive one-bedroom apartment just hit the market with an eye-watering asking price of $1.8million.
Far from being your standard studio or one bedder, this particular flat attracts the ridiculous price tag purely because of where it is.
The flat is situated in the hyper-exclusive 150 Clarendon building, overlooking Fitzroy Gardens in East Melbourne. That building, developed in 2009 with 88 apartments, is said to house the city’s most expensive flat: The approximately $30million+ penthouse owned by the building’s developer, Salta Property Group owner Sam Tarascio Sr, which has never been put on the market since it was built.
By comparison, $1.8million will currently fetch you a three-level, three bedroom home smack on the border of Port Melbourne and Albert Park, or a dual-level 3-bedroom townhouse in the heart of Fitzroy.
The owner of the flat was reportedly a former Toorak resident – would you even believe – who downsized to the one bedder. Judging by the photos, you probably could’ve guessed as much from the furniture TBH.
The listing for the apartment extols the building’s “innovative design” and “world-class facilities,” which also offers residents 24-hour concierge service, a 25-metre swimming pool, large spa, steam room, sauna, cinema, car washing, and reception areas for hosting guests.
It does not mention the fact that Mick Molloy sold up and moved out of there 3 years ago, but apparently that’s not a selling point for people with oodles of cash. Weird.
The previous record-holder for most expensive one-bedroom apartment was the flat literally next door to this one, which sold in October 2015 for $1,675,000.
So if you’re keen on the mansion-lifestyle but prefer the cosy confines of a shoebox, this is absolutely the joint for you.
