Brissy Fitness Blogger Charged In Relation To $1M Drug-Trafficking Bust

Brisvegas police have been busy busting an alleged large-scale drug trafficking syndicate, and an Insta-famous fitness blogger is the latest person they’ve charged.

25-year-old Mary Molloy and her ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old Jason Atkins, were arrested on Tuesday evening after properties in Newstead and Teneriffe in Brisbane were raided.

Both were charged with a string of offences including trafficking, supply and possession of MDMA as well as possession of things used in the commission of a crime.

Molloy boasts almost 70,000 followers on the ‘gram, with her mid-tense bikini shots drawing some impressive numbers. According to her bio, she’s a WBFF Fitness Pro specialising in “training and diet plans”. E-e-e-e-excellent.

Coppers allege Molloy and Atkins are linked to the arrests of two other people (Lucy Molloy and Russell Kyle Johnston) made late last year.

Lucy Molloy and Johnston were charged in relation to the alleged syndicate after police raided a property at Albion in 2017 allegedly found a whopping 24,000 MDMA pills. Detectives reckon the pills had a street value of $1 million.

For now, the pair have been granted bail. Interestingly, the Courier Mail reports that Atkins was only released on the condition he tell police the pin code to his phone.

“He understands he will have to give over the code to be released, and in turn, whatever is on the phone,” defence barrister Robert Glenday told the court.

In the meantime, both Atkins and Molloy are prohibited from using everyone’s favourite private encrypted messenger app Wickr.
